Jacob LOVES playing Jenga, and is actually VERY good at it, so when I saw that there was going to be a Jenga tournament at the library, we were all in!!
Jacob was all geared up and excited to play. The tournament was supposed to start at 2. Knowing how bored Jacob can get, we planned to get there at 1:55. We got there right in time, but then they told us that they weren't going to start until 2:30, just to give everyone time to practice..
Ugh. I wish we had known this.
They announced that the winners would receive target gift cards, so Jacob was really excited!
Jacob was patient until about 2:25, then the crazy kicked in. He got very antsy and bored and unfocused.
He was paired to play against another 5 year old. He did well, but kept losing focus (staring out the window, laughing for no apparent reason, making silly noises, taking bathroom breaks..)
The little girl's mom kept butting in, pointing at the tower, and telling her daughter where to go and not to go. It was so annoying!!
Jacob finally finished off the game by pushing the tower over. His hyperactivity got the best of him. Then he cried all the way to the car because he didn't want to lose.
The big tournament game.
